I was born in the North West of England in a very pretty, hilly and wet rural area. A childhood full of rainy days allowed for lots of time indoors drawing and painting. Being told by my school teacher that i had talent only encouraged me to stay in and do more!

I couldn't picture myself doing anything else and studied Illustration at Kingston University. Upon graduating I fell into a dream job designing and illustrating greetings cards, wrap, toys and stationery which was sold in a large UK department store. I loved it so much I stayed for 16 years!

Now I'm freelance and loving every minute of it. I can get totally absorbed when I'm in the middle of an illustration - a bomb could go off and I probably wouldn't notice. I generally put my headphones on so I can shut the world out around me. It feels totally indulgent. Everyday I wake up and think 'is this really how I make a living?'  I have to pinch myself sometimes, it's a dream come true.
